Former 'Paranormal State' star Ryan Buell accused of ripping off fans

Former "Paranormal State" television personality Ryan Buell is under fire from fans this summer. Ryan Buell appeared on the hit A&E paranormal reality show "Paranormal State" with his team the Paranormal Research Society from December 2007 to May 2011. He founded the Paranormal Research Society when he was a 19-year-old student at Pennsylvania State University.
Buell was scheduled to appear in Toronto, Ottawa, Halifax, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, and Vancouver for the "Paranormal: The Experience" tour from June 4 through June 22. On the event'sdescription, Buell promised to visit each city and do a meet and greet with fans. Lectures, ghost hunts, and other paranormal fun stuff was supposed to be in store for fans but apparently some of the events were cancelled without notice and Buell and friends were allegedly a no-show.
"The fact that I had to call the venue for tonight's show to find out if its happening or not is pathetic! YOU ALL SHOULD BE ASHAMAED! Thanks SOOO much for cancelling LAST WEEK and not telling us. If I hadn't called to find out myself I would have driven over an hour FOR NOTHING! I want my money back. I have lost all respect for you guys," fan Sarah Bertrand posted on PRS' Facebook page referring to the event in Winnipeg.

"You guys are a JOKE! You guys took my money and didn't even show up in Edmonton! NO ONE can get a hold of you because NONE OF YOU reply to anyone's emails. GIVE US BACK OUR DAMN MONEY YOU SCAM ARTISTS!" Sabrina Cryderman said on Ryan Buell's Facebook page.
Hundreds of "Paranormal State" fans and supporters of Buell and PRS are angry and upset. A lot of them claim to have paid for DVDs and events but Buell has never sent them and he continues to cancel the events.
In the summer of 2012, Buell announced to fans that he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Some fans are wondering if Buell is pulling a similar stunt like former "Ghost Hunters" star Brian Harnois did. Harnois scammed his fans out of thousands of dollars from undelivered merchandise to cancelled events. Buell could be using his former celebrity status to make some extra money by ripping off his fans. Maybe he is doing what the character Walter White did from the popular "Breaking Bad" television series. On the show, the former science teacher found out that he had cancer and ultimately decided to manufacture drugs as a quick way to make income. Hopefully Buell and PRS do the right thing and give everyone refunds.

Woman captures ghost on camera during Alcatraz prison tour

A tourist was taking photographs in an abandoned prison and after she reviewed the images, she noticed something strange in one of the photos. The ghost of a woman appeared in a reflection of one of the prison cell windows, the Hufftington Post reported on Wednesday.
British tourists Sheila Sillery-Walsh and her friend Paul Rice were visiting Alcatraz, in San Francisco. While on tour of the infamous former prison, Sillery-Walsh snapping some photos of the cells with her iPhone. The 48-year-old teacher instantly reviewed the images and noticed a strange woman in one of the photos.
"When I glanced at the photo on my mobile, I saw this dark female figure in the picture. I looked at the window again and there was no one in the room. I am so curious to know who she could be, perhaps she was a female visitor of a prisoner and kept returning. I would love to know why she’s shown herself in my photo," Sillery-Walsh said in an interview about the image.
Sillery-Walsh said that the prison staff didn't recognize the woman in the photo. Her friend Rice claims that it wasn't her reflection and that he really believes the woman is a ghost that haunts the prison.
"The woman’s hair and clothing is from a different era, it looks like she’s from the 1930s or 40s," Rice said.
While in operation, there were numerous people that died on the island. There were eight murders that took place inside the Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary. Three guards and five inmates were murdered in the prison. A correction officer was killed in the laundry room, two other officers died during an escape attempt in 1946, and five inmates were killed in various attacks. Five inmates committed suicide and several prisoners died while attempting to escape.
According to government records, there were never any female inmates, guards, or administrators at the prison. Prisoners went decades without ever hearing a female voice.

Full moon coincides with Friday the 13th this month

A rare event is going to happen this month. A full moon will occur just after midnight on Friday the 13th, making it the ultimate bad luck day for the superstitious, Universe Today reported last week.
Friday the 13th is known as a Black Friday and some people see it as an ordinary day but many others see it as a day that brings bad luck.
Unlucky people might not want to leave their houses this Friday. The moon is scheduled to be full at approximately 12:12 AM Eastern Daylight Time on Friday, June 13, 2014. Nights like this do not happen often. The last full moon to fall on a Black Friday happened 14 years ago in October and it won't happen again until August 2049.
Friday, which happens to be the unluckiest day of the week coincides with a full moon this year. On nights with a full moon, people act bizarre, and crime rates seem to increase with hospital emergency rooms filling up. The upcoming full moon will be at the lowest point in the sky that it will be all year long.
For centuries, Fridays and the number 13 have always been seen as separately unlucky in some cultures. The number 13 has always considered to be unlucky, in fact a lot of folks are afraid of the number. People that fear the number 13 suffer from the recognized phobia, Triskaidekaphobia.
Additionally, astrophysicists think that they solved the 55-year mystery of the dark side of the moon this week. The mystery known to scientists as the Lunar Farside Highlands Problem dates back to when the Soviet spacecraft transmitted the first photos of the dark side of the moon in 1959. According to scientists, the dark side was likely caused when the moon was formed and it could be a result from the heat from the Earth.

Former 'Ghost Hunters' star Brian Harnois took his fans' money and ran

Former "Ghost Hunters" and "Ghost Hunters International" star Brian Harnois is still under attack from his fans. It has been a year since the paranormal investigator has being accused of stealing money from his supporters and according to the fans, he still owes them refunds.
Harnois is no stranger to modern drama. During his three-season stint on "Ghost Hunters" he was the show's drama king and a fan-favorite. Nearly every one of the 36 episodes Harnois was in, it seemed that he was at the center of some sort of chaos. Harnois gained a large cult following of fans from appearing on the "Ghost Hunters" show.
In December 2012, Harnois wrote and posted a cryptic message on his Facebook page that some people believed was a suicide note. His wife, Michelle Harnois filed a missing person report the same day with the Warwick Police Department after not seeing him for a few days. Harnois was found safe the following day.
"I do not know the details but Brian has been found safe and is currently on his way to get mental treatment." Michelle Harnois said in a post about the incident on her Twitter page.
A lot of people in the paranormal community believe that Harnois staged the incident to get attention and build buzz for a comeback. He even lashed out at some fans regarding his December disappearance.
Shortly after the suicide incident, Harnois announced that he would be doing a series of speaking events on the "Dude, Run! Tour" and some fans that have supported him in this venture allegedly got scammed out of their money. A few of them have tried to reach out to him on his various Facebook accounts but Harnois either ignores them, censors their comments, or insults them.
"If anybody who has ever watched 'Ghost Hunters' had paid attention to Brian's personality and habits, the dude never owned up to his constant incompetence on the show. I can bet given Brian's collective impulses, he will rear his ugly head once again, the guy craves attention and affirmation, even if it's negative. Also, he deserves all the backlash he's getting from his lack of integrity and honesty. When you put yourself into the public light, you deserve a public response," fan Roberto Vasquez said in a post on Harnois' Facebook page today.
Harnois vanished from the paranormal community and abandoned his fans last June and hasn't been back since. The only online presence that he has now is a Twitter account where he is known as "B to the R I A N" and uses the call sign@Darth_Wheezy. Harnois mostly uses his Twitter account to flirt with young women and rant about the Buffalo Bills and "Star Wars" memorabilia.
Fans that have paid Harnois for items last year still have yet to receive them. One fan, Cheryl Baricko even accused him of stealing her payment and claimed that he refused issuing a refund for an upcoming event.
"Man up and stop removing posts that show the truth. My husband posted where you posted anyone can get a refund if they cancel with in seven days before the event," Baricko posted on Harnois' Facebook page.
Harnois doesn't seem to care that he is turning his large fan base into enemies. He constantly tries to make excuses to them about the tickets to events and products that they ordered.
"Everyone I owe T-shirts, DVD's, or 8 x 10s to will be getting them this week or the following week. I've had a very big problem with getting everyone's information together because of lack of a computer and misinformation." Harnois attempted to do some damage control by posting an excuse on his Facebook fan page.
After all of the excuses and broken promises, Harnois didn't commit to resolving the issues with his fans. He ended up vanishing with their money like a ghost.
"So if anyone thinks he is a nice guy, he is a thief. Check RI court records. He has a world of court trouble coming this week for ripping people off and most likely will be arrested again." According to Baricko, this isn't the first time Harnois has stolen from fans.
In April 2013, the Warwick Police Department issued a bench warrant for Harnois regarding an alleged theft from Wal-Mart that occurred in March 2012. Some folks think that Harnois is using the money to pay the rest of his overdue court costs. So far he has only paid a few small payments, with the last one paid on May 29, 2014. Harnois still owes $335 in restitution fines.

Mysterious Slenderman blamed for attacks

A mysterious creature has been blamed for a recent serious of violent attacks. The fictional character known as Slenderman is haunting the minds of children and causing them to inflict harm onto others, the Daily Mail reported last week.
This month marks the 5-year anniversary of Slenderman. Slenderman is a fictional character that was created by Eric Knudsen on June 8, 2009. Knudsen also known as Victor Surge created the internet meme and introduced it in a thread on the Something Awful forum.
Slenderman is depicted as an unusually tall and thin man with a blank and featureless face. He wears a black suit and fictional stories of the being consist of him stalking and kidnapping children.
On May 31, two 12-year-old girls in Wisconsin were charged with attempted murder of another 12-year-old girl when they attempted to kill her and sacrifice her to the fictitious online demon.
According to police reports, Anissa Weier and Morgan Geyster told authorities that they invited their friend over for an overnight sleepover. The two preteens originally planned to put duct tape on the girl's mouth and stab her to death so that they could hide her body so it made it look like the girl ran away to the Slenderman's house.
Geyster and Weier ended up not sticking to their plan, but instead took their victim to a park restroom building where they stabbed her 19 times and left the girl for dead. Luckily the girl crawled to a nearby road where a bicyclist found her. She was taken to a local hospital and treated for her wounds and released a few days later. Gestyer and Weire were both charged as adults for attempted murder and are looking at 65 years in prison for the crime.
Last night a 13-year-old girl in Ohio obsessed with Slenderman stabbed her mother. The teen waited in the kitchen for her mother to come home from work and when she arrived, the girl attacked and stabbed her mom multiple times. The woman sustained minor injuries from the attack.
"I came home one night from work and she was in the kitchen waiting for me and she was wearing a white mask. She had her hood up and had her hands covered with her sleeves and the mask,” the woman said to local news station WLWT in an interview.
The woman told authorities that her daughter has ongoing mental issues and is obsessed with the Slenderman creature. She said that her daughter constantly talks about being possessed by demons and that she is falling into darkness.

'Ghostbusters' celebrates its 30th anniversary with a theatrical re-release

This month marks the 30th anniversary of the blockbuster film "Ghostbusters" which was released in 1984. The hit paranormal film will be re-released on the big screen on August 29, Sony Pictures announced on the film's website.
"Ghostbusters" was directed by Ivan Reitman and written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis. The film stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson. The team of four are fearless paranormal researchers that turn into ghost exterminators as evil spirits invade New York City.
This year is the 30th anniversary of the film. It is scheduled for a theatrical reissue on August 29 and will be featured in over 700 theaters. The franchise was also hit with the untimely death of one of its stars.
Earlier this year, Ramis died in Chicago at the age of 69-years-old. The beloved actor was surrounded by family when he passed away from a disease that swells blood vessels, according to a report from the Chicago Tribune.
Comedian Harold Ramis was famous for writing and directing films "Ghostbusters," "Caddy Shack," "Animal House," and "Groundhog Day." Ramis has inspired many of today's comedians and actors.
"It was Harold who acted out and gave me the inspiration for the character of Clark Griswold. I was really copying Harold's impression of Clark," Chevy Chase said.
Ramis was most famous for being Dr. Egon Spengler on "Ghostbusters" but his acting career didn't take off like it did for actors Bill Murray and Dan Akroyd. He realized his real calling was off-screen, writing and directing films. Ramis helped Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, Chevy Chase, Billy Crystal, Michael Keaton, Robert De Niro and many other actors become the stars that they are today. Ramis' final film was a biblical comedy called "Year One." Released in 2009, it starred Jack Black and Michael Cera.
Ramis is survived by his wife, Erica; two sons Julian and Daniel; daughter Violet; and two grandchildren.
"May he now get the answers he was always seeking," Dan Aykroyd said.
